About Me

Hi, I am Connor.

I’m passionate about music - playing, composing, learning everything I can. Mostly though, I’m passionate about helping others realize the joy that comes from learning the drums.

Over the course of 3 decades I have been studying, performing, producing and recording music in a variety of genres (rock, pop, jazz, big band, funk, electronic and more). Since studying drums/percussion at MacEwan University, I have played hundreds of concerts - extensively touring Canada, US and Australia as well as playing major festivals such as SXSW, Sled Island and Treefort to name a few. Fun fact; I played on a segment of Battle Of The Instant Bands on the Jimmy Fallen show in 2010 (and won!).

As an instructor of over 20 years, I have taught over 20,000 lessons to hundreds of students ranging in age from 4 to 84. Many of those students have gone on to pursue careers in music, enrolled in post-secondary music schools and some have been sponsored by notable drum companies.

Whether your goal is to be able to drum along with your favorite songs in your bedroom, play in a band with your friends, go to post-secondary school, or to pursue a career in the music industry, I can help you get there. No matter your age, learning to play the drums is an unbelievably rewarding experience that can provide a lifetime of joy.

My Mission

As a fun, youthful, energetic and encouraging individual, I enthusiastically and competitively strive to be the best musician and teacher I can be. I put major emphasis on connecting with the student at their level and on creating an environment where they can feel safe, comfortable and inspired. I let the student dictate the style and direction they want to go and use that to retain their interest while subtly injecting fundamental concepts and theory to help mold a balanced musician. Most importantly, I understand that music is supposed to be fun and that the journey to becoming a good “player” is different for every person.

“If you want to learn how to play the drums in a stress-free environment and make it feel like an exciting adventure, then Connor's the one for you!”
